NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) will be open on normal business days throughout the 2019/2020 Christmas and New Year period.
As there are less customer enquiries during this period, we will operate with reduced staff levels and this may affect some services.
The NSW LRS office and Customer Service Counter will be closed on the following public holidays:
- Wednesday 25 December 2019
- Thursday 26 December 2019, and
- Wednesday 1 January 2020.
NSW LRS will be open on all other business days during this period between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
Changes to in-person account-holder lodgments
During the Christmas and New Year period, we ask our account-holder customers to:
- Lodge dealings and other documents through our bulk lodgment service from 16 December 2019 – 3 January 2020 inclusive.
- Lodge plans through our bulk lodgment service from 26 December 2019 – 3 January 2020 inclusive.
We ask customers to ensure that plans, dealings and documents lodged using the bulk lodgment service are acceptable for lodgment at the time they are presented to NSW LRS.
Account-holder customers can only use the personal lodgment service for the lodgment of caveats, writs and orders of court during this period. All other dealings and plans will be accepted via the bulk lodgment service.
Same day receipt trial for the bulk lodgment service
During the Christmas and New Year period, NSW LRS will trial a new receipt for documents presented through the bulk lodgment service. Customers can complete the receipt and bring it to the NSW LRS Customer Service Counter. Click here to access the receipt, which can be found in the Forms Library under General Forms.
Documents presented to the bulk lodgment service with a completed receipt prior to 12 noon each day will receive ‘same day’ lodgment and advice of dealing numbers, and a copy of the lodgment receipt via email.
The receipt trial follows customer feedback about the bulk lodgment service. We encourage customers who use the receipt during this period to share your feedback with NSW LRS as we continue to make it easier to do business with us.
Reminder: Lodging Mainstream Property Dealings using eConveyancing
We remind customers that Mainstream Property Dealings – such as transfer, mortgage, discharge of mortgage, caveat, withdrawal of caveat, or transmission application – that are signed on or after 1 July 2019 must be lodged through an Electronic Lodgment Network Operator (ELNO).
The lodgment of a mainstream dealing on paper must be accompanied by a completed Conveyancing Rules exemption form, which can be found on our website: Download the Conveyancing Rules Exemptions Form.
