Final checks are underway as NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) prepares to launch a new-look Digital Plan Validation Service to assist surveyors in identifying and eliminating likely issues that can delay plan registration.
The Digital Plan Validation Service allows surveyors to check their digital plans online for compliance with over 20 surveying rules, regulations, and requirements by uploading LandXML files into ePlan, the electronic plan lodgment and validation system.
The Digital Plan Validation Service provides surveyors with greater certainty that their plans will avoid the requisitions that commonly delay registration.
The new validation service will:
- Check plans against the 2017 regulation variations
- Confirm that plans meet MGA2020 requirements, and
- Enhance several service features to deliver better results, including irregular line miscloses and areas.
Further enhancements and features will be added to the Digital Plan Validation Service during 2020.
Launching in the first quarter of 2020
NSW LRS will launch the new Digital Plan Validation Service in February 2020, with the exact date to be confirmed closer to lift off. Level 3 ePlan users will have access to the Digital Plan Validation Service through the NSW LRS Online Portal.
The new Digital Plan Validation Service will continue to run in tandem with the old service until it is decommissioned on 30 June 2020.
Take part in testing the new Validation Service
The Digital Plan Validation Service is currently in the final testing phase, which will continue until mid-February. If you would like to be part of the testing group, please contact the NSW LRS Digital Plans team using the contact details below.
LandXML Recipe (version 9.1) and Schema (version 4.0) now apply
The new Digital Plan Validation Service will check uploaded digital plans against LandXML Schema 4.0, which took effect on 1 January 2020 following its release in July 2019. Surveyors are reminded that all LandXML files lodged with NSW LRS in 2020 should be lodged using the new schema.
Please contact your software vendor to see if you require an upgrade.
