Conveyancing Rules Exceptions - 1 July 2018

Exceptions to the Conveyancing Rules (Version 4) mandates

It has come to the attention of NSW LRS that there has been some confusion regarding the applicability of the Conveyancing Rules (Version 4). For clarity please note the following:

The 1 July 2018 mandate for electronic lodgment through an Electronic Lodgment Network applies to the following dealings signed on or after 1 July 2018:

  • standalone caveats
  • standalone transfers
  • standalone discharges of mortgage (DMs)
  • standalone mortgages (Ms)
  • refinance transactions (combinations of DMs & Ms)

Mandated dealings may only be lodged in paper when accompanied by a Conveyancing Rules Exception Form. This form must not be amended or added to.

NSW LRS will only accept the exceptions to the mandate listed in the Exceptions Form and as published by the Office of the Registrar General. See their Circular 2018/03.

No other exceptions or waivers will be allowed.

Other exemptions may apply see the exemptions page on the RG's Guidelines.
