The latest version of the LandXML Recipe (version 9.1) and Schema (version 4.0) are now available on the NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) website at: www.nswlrs.com.au/Digital-Plans/LandXML.
Version 9.1 of the NSW LandXML Recipe and version 4.0 of the Schema take effect on 1 January 2020. Digital plans surveyed after 1 January 2020 must follow LandXML Recipe version 9.1 and Schema version 4.0.
LandXML is a digital format for the lodgment of digital plans that has been endorsed by the Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ICSM) as the national standard for the digital lodgment of cadastral plans in Australia.
The NSW LandXML Recipe is a subset of the national LandXML specification and addresses the particular elements required in order to submit LandXML files to NSW LRS. The Schemas outline the NSW-specific data elements for digital plans prepared in accordance with the national ICSM model.
The Recipe and Schemas are published by NSW LRS to assist survey software vendors and surveyors to develop LandXML functionality within their software and practices.
The new NSW LandXML Recipe and Schemas were developed in consultation with the Office of the Registrar General, the Surveyor General, Spatial Services and NSW LRS and incorporate feedback from surveying software vendors.
New features of Recipe version 9.1 and Schema version 4.0 include:
- Changes to accommodate GDA2020, the update of Australia’s geospatial Reference System to more closely align spatial data with positions observed using the Global Navigation Satellite System.
- The addition of Policy 4 and 5 Exemptions in accordance with Surveyor-General’s Direction No. 7.
- The addition of Zone 58 for Norfolk Island to include the region in the NSW cadastre.
Digital plans will be examined by NSW LRS using these standards from 1 January 2020.
The LandXML Recipe version 9.1 and all versions of the schemas are now available on the NSW LRS website: www.nswlrs.com.au/Digital-Plans/LandXML.
