NSW LRS is not responsible for the maintenance of property addresses in NSW. A local council assigns property addresses and the addressing database is maintained by Spatial Services.
Address details can change for a property after the registration of a plan. To check your property is correctly detailed on the NSW land title register conduct a ‘Reverse Street Address Inquiry’ in the NSW LRS Online Portal.
To correct a property address that appears incorrectly stated in a Reverse Street Address Inquiry on the NSW LRS Portal, you will need to follow this process:
- Contact your local council to confirm your property’s address and request that your local council update the address with Spatial Services who manage the addressing database.
- Your local council will review the address and assess the documentation provided by you to determine whether the street number/address was incorrect when the plan was registered.
- When your local council confirms a change needs to be made, they will contact Spatial Services to implement the change into the system.
Local councils can make a request to update incorrect addresses by emailing Spatial Services on SS-Addressing@customerservice.nsw.gov.au
- Spatial Services will implement the address update.
Once an address is updated by Spatial Services, the change will automatically flow through to the NSW LRS land title register.
- Your local council will be able to confirm for you when this change has been implemented.
NSW LRS does not amend street address schedules on registered documents if they were correct at time of registration or any other changes post registration of the plan. For example, a change of locality or street name. For more information see Amendment of a registered plan.
