In December 2020 the Registrar General mandated that twenty-nine dealings will become Required Dealings from 22 March 2021, meaning the documents must be lodged electronically.
This means that NSW LRS will be unable to accept these dealings in paper at our Lodgment Office if signed on or after that date.
Please refer to the NSW LRS announcement published in December 2020 for the full
list of impacted dealings. This list is also available on the Registrar General’s website, on the
Schedule of eDealings page.
Please refer to the
Registrar General’s Guidelines on eLodgments for more information on these dealings.
Waivers or exemptions to the mandate
The Office of the Registrar General has provided information about waivers to the March 2021 mandate. The list of
exceptions to the mandated dealings can be viewed through the Office of Registrar General’s website.
The following parties are
not eligible for an exemption under the ‘unrepresented party’ waiver:
- Legal practitioners
- Conveyancers
- Legal firms
- Lodging agents registered as PEXA Subscribers
Mandated dealings executed or presented by the above parties may be rejected or requisitioned by NSW LRS.
Download the Conveyancing Rules Exemption Form
Where an exemption to electronic lodgment applies, a Conveyancing Rules Exemption Form must be submitted to NSW LRS with the relevant dealings.
You can access the form on our website in the Forms and Fees library (General Forms section): https://www.nswlrs.com.au/getattachment/0a9b0dfb-05c9-4283-8451-d5b91503a1f2/attachment.aspx
