NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) welcomes Electronic Network Lodgement Operator Sympli’s first transaction on the NSW Torrens Title Register, which took place on 22 October 2019.
The entry of a second eConveyancing operator follows the NSW Government’s mandating of the electronic lodgment of all mainstream property dealings on 1 July 2019.
Sympli joins PEXA in offering eConveyancing services in NSW.
The transaction of a second Electronic Network Lodgement Operator (ELNO) on the NSW land titles register is a key milestone for NSW LRS and follows the successful development of a new eConveyancing platform to support the growing sector.
NSWLRS Chief Executive Officer, Adam Bennett, said the project demonstrates the organisation’s strong focus on enhancing technology systems to support digitisation and deliver better customer outcomes for the citizens of NSW.
“eConveyancing has changed the nature of the NSW land registry, with the majority of dealings now lodged through an ELNO,” Mr Bennett said.
“The entry of Sympli into the NSW eConveyancing market follows a substantial effort from our team and partners to ensure that NSW Land Registry Services can support all ELNOs as they join the sector.”
The eConveyancing platform project is part of NSW LRS’ more than $20 million investment in technology infrastructure since July 2017, which also included the successful migration of Registry systems into the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment to improve their stability, security and resilience, and the digitisation of the State’s historical land titles collection.
The eConveyancing platform project saw NSW LRS develop an electronic lodgement platform using a microservice API that enables multiple ELNOs to connect to the NSW land titles register. This new API supplements and will eventually replace the existing system that has supported PEXA’s eConveyancing services since its first transaction in NSW in 2013.
The new NSW LRS eConveyancing platform:
- Is ready for the future operation of additional ELNOs due to its scalable, flexible system design and architecture.
- Supports large volumes of eConveyancing transactions utilising AWS’ cloud computing environment.
- Protects the security of eConveyancing data through strong encryption and robust security architecture.
NSW LRS continues to work with registered ELNOs to enable the electronic lodgment of additional dealings in the future, making it easier for citizens and businesses to do business with us electronically.
