NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) supports the Department of Customer Service’s review of the use of digital survey plans in NSW.
Earlier this month, the Office of the Registrar General and the Surveyor General released an independent report, known as the Grosvenor Review. The report considers the use of digital plans by users to date, identifies opportunities for the digitisation of plans, and recommends the best way to progress digital plans and deliver maximum benefits to surveyors, plan users and Government.
The Grosvenor Review
NSW LRS welcomes the Grosvenor Review, which captures current stakeholder views on digital plans and future opportunities and sets out frameworks to inform the collaborative design of digital plan requirements, systems and processes to benefit stakeholders including NSW LRS and our customers. The findings of the Review offer useful inputs that will inform the future use of digital plans in NSW.
You can find out more about the Grosvenor Review and access the full report on the Office of the Registrar General’s website at:

Supporting the delivery of digital plans and improving outcomes
As a member of the Steering Committee NSW LRS has appreciated the opportunity to work with the Department of Customer Service and other stakeholders to drive digital plans reforms arising from the Review.
NSW LRS CEO, Adam Bennett, said: “We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with the Registrar General and Surveyor General to give effect to the Government’s digital plan reform agenda. We are working with surveyors and information brokers to bring digital plans to market and make them more accessible to more users. We have developed complimentary services that work to automatically check plan compliance with over 25 surveying rules, regulations and requirements. This service aims to save surveyor’s time, reduce requisitions and result in more efficient processing.”
NSW LRS, together with the Department of Customer Service, will be involved in stakeholder engagement to learn direct from practitioners on the design and implementation of reforms for the use of digital plans.
Stakeholder engagement has begun and will continue in the months ahead. If you would like to participate, please contact DigitalPlans@nswlrs.com.au.
